MobileCom 4G
Western DataCom is currently in the process of migrating from 3G technology on its MobileCom eXpress to the latest 4G LTE (Long Term Evolutionary) technology and expects to release the MobileCom 4G in the 3rd quarter of 2011.
Based on the latest Qualcomm technology utilizing the Sierra Wireless MC77xx Series modules the MobileCom 4G is theoretically capable of 100Mbps downstream and 50Mbps upstream opening up applications previously not available to mobile devices. The MobileCom 4G will support both LTE, EV-DO and HSPA+ networks as well as LTE and HSPA+ in different frequency bands.
In addition to 4G the updated MobileCom 4G will also support more advanced routing, security and configuration capabilities.
